Paleo-artist, Janelle Dakan has been designing leather sculpture for over a decade, showing her work across the country and having been published multiple times within the leather working community. Her sculptures have been judged & awarded by some of the most prestigious leather artisans in the world.
As an Illustration graduate who also studied metal working while attending Ringling School of Art & Design in 2005, she's learned to utilize line along with form in her 2-D to 3-D designs.
She's taught leather sculpting in several venues demonstrating her dinosaur model-kit brand, "Skelosaurz," which was successfully funded through Kickstarter in 2016.
Original works designed today continue to display Janelle's love of art and science with minimalist style that suits our modern era.
Her recreated depictions of prehistory and inspired models of long-extinct creatures successfully syncs one of mankind's oldest artforms with ancient earth's flora and fauna which fit together quite naturally.
